Introduction
BoyLover.net is committed to protecting your privacy. You can visit most pages on our site without giving us any information about yourself. However, in order for you to participate in our online community we do need some information from you. This enables us to provide services that you request and ensures the authenticity of your contributions. This privacy statement explains data collection and use of your personal information and applies to all BoyLover.net services (collectively "BoyLover.net").
This privacy statement does not apply to third-party services that you may use to get access to the services provided by BoyLover.net, such as ISP connections and e-mail services. For information about the privacy policies of those service providers, you should contact them. BoyLover.net cannot be held liable for any privacy infringement by third parties.
Please read the BoyLover.net privacy statement completely and carefully.
Collection of your Personal Information
We will never request you to provide information that personally identifies you, such as your real (full) name and address. In fact we dissuade you from revealing such information about yourself. However, we do need information that allows us to contact you. For this purpose you must provide a valid and personal e-mail address. In order for us to be able to comply with COPPA and any other US or international laws and to offer you the utmost and relevant protection--as far as possible within our influential scope--you also must provide us with your real birth date. If you are under 13 years of age also the e-mail address of your legal guardian or parent is mandatory information (also see the section Protection of Children's Personal Information). Other information submitted on registration, such as location and personal interests, as well as information provided by you prior to and/or after registration are optional and done at your own risk.
BoyLover.net also collects certain information about your computer hardware and software. This information may include your IP address, browser type and version, operating system type and version, access times and referring Web site addresses. This information is used for the operation of BoyLover.net, to maintain quality of the services we offer, to provide general statistics regarding use of BoyLover.net and to protect your safety and those of other members.
BoyLover.net also collects information about which pages are visited within BoyLover.net. This site visitation data is identified by your IP address and is only used for general statistics, problem solving, internal tracking and security purposes.

You will not be able to choose to unsubscribe to these mailings, as they are considered an essential part of the service you have chosen, unless you choose to cancel your membership altogether.
Access to your Personal Information
The information you provide or is collected while using our services, that is stored in your member profile, is presented in three different ways with different access policies:
1. As a Personal Profile
2. As a Public Profile
3. As an Administrative Profile
Personal Profile
We will provide you with the means to ensure that your personal information is correct and current. If you are logged in at BoyLover.net, you can review and edit your personal information at "My Profile" (http://www.boylover.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=edit_my_profile), unless this has specifically been locked by the Administration. If your profile has been locked, you will be notified by e-mail, and you can request modification of your data at anytime by contacting the Administration (admin@BoyLover.net). If you’re not logged in, you will be asked to enter your username and password before viewing/updating your personal information. Your personal profile is a subset of the administrative profile.
Public Profile
In "My Profile" you can also enable or disable display of certain data in your public profile, depending on how this is set up by the board administration. Your public profile is only accessible to registered members who are logged on and can only be read. The information displayed in your public profile is taken from your personal profile and can only be updated via "My Profile" or the Control Panel, a protected area which is only accessible to administrators (see Administrative Profile).
The following information from your profile is never displayed in your public profile:
Login Name

The following information from your profile is always displayed in your public profile:
Publicly Displayed Name

Your e-mail address is only displayed if you enable this in your personal profile; otherwise it’s hidden from public view.
Additionally, the places on the board where you were last seen, are also shown, unless you enable the "Hide from Recent Visitors" feature in your personal profile (set to Yes). If the "Hide from Recent Visitors" feature is disabled (set to No), your publicly displayed name will also be displayed in the "Recent Visitors" area on the forum summary page and on the forum pages. The "Recent Visitors" area is also visible to guests.
Administrative Profile
The administrative profiles are only accessible to board administrators and only meant for administrative/management purposes and can, if required, be updated by the board administrators. Administrative profiles are only accessible via the Control Panel, a protected area which is only accessible to administrators and directors.
A member’s administrative profile contains all information available in the personal profile plus the following information:
Password (except for members with status Administrator or Moderator)
Last Post IP
Registration IP
Apart from the UBB presentations of your personal information, your profile is fully accessible in its physical (raw) form to the Site Administrator.
Information that is collected while using our services is not only stored in your member profile; also discussion thread files and web server log files (may) contain information such as your IP address. Only moderators and administrators can obtain your IP address from the posting data. Only the site administrator can view the web server log files.
Protection of Children's Personal Information
BoyLover.net is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of minors. In compliance with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), BoyLover.net is obliged to obtain parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children under 13. Membership applications of persons under 13 will only be approved after parental consent.
According to BoyLover.net policy, consent from the COPPA member’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) given by e-mail is acceptable. The e-mail should be sent from the address as provided as being the parent’s/guardian’s e-mail address upon registration.

Use of Cookies
A cookie is a very small text file placed on your hard drive by a web server. It is essentially your identification card, and cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. It is uniquely yours and can only be read by the server that gave it to you.
If you are a registered member and log on to the message board, a cookie is placed on your computer. Until you log out, explicitly clear your browser cookies, or the cookie lifetime has expired, the cookie will reside on your computer. The cookie placed by the message board can only be accessed by BoyLover.net services. The use of cookies is solely for authentication purposes and is required by the message board software (UBB).
If you choose to not have your browser accept cookies from the BoyLover.net message board, you will be able to read most of the community forums and informational pages, however you will not be able to log on to the message board and post messages.
Privacy Customizations to the UBB Software
The Management of BoyLover.net believes that the standard UBB.classic software used for the message board does not provide sufficient measures to protect the privacy of its members. For that reason the UBB software has been customized so as to shield some information from public view. For instance, birth dates are never visible in the public profile now; instead the age category is displayed as Youth (16 or under) or Adult (17 or above). Also, public profiles are viewable only by registered members who are logged on.
If you believe that other privacy customizations are desirable or even required, please contact us by e-mail at privacy@boylover.net.
Changes to this Statement
BoyLover.net will occasionally update this privacy statement. When we do, we will also revise the "last updated" date at the top of the privacy statement. For material changes to this statement, BoyLover.net will notify you by placing prominent notice on the Web site.
Contact Information
BoyLover.net welcomes your comments regarding this privacy statement. Also, if you have any questions regarding this statement, please contact us by e-mail at privacy@boylover.net.
